We have a subforum now! Huzzah! So, if everyone could put their character sheets down here for easy access and answer a couple of questions, I will get to copying across the houserules and putting up some of the world lore. Map may have to wait a while, though, because my desktop computer is being a derp. Speech: I'd like to set up some general styles for speech so everyone knows what everyone else's formatting means. I'm open to suggestions, but my default is: - "Speech in quote marks."
- Thoughts in italics.
- ~Telepathy in italics bordered by tildes~
- [Text messages etc in a different font and bordered by square brackets]
On a similar note, do people want to use different colours for their different characters? I honestly don't mind either which way with this one. Please pick a colour for your character just in case we do end up using speech colours, as well. Maps: How do people want to handle maps? I don't want to do 'theatre of the mind' stuff, not in a system like PTU, so that leaves three options that I can think of: putting the map on a Google sheeet, using Ditzie, or having the map as a series of images on these forums. If everyone really wants to I can try and set up a roll20 map, but I'd rather not.

Kyria the blade dancer I'm probably going to request a darker gray as my color for legibility's sake, otherwise it'd be a Grey color. I like roll20 maps but I do agree they could be a pain, whatever is easiest for you will work, so long as it's not so indirect that I have to make new accounts to view it

Lewis the EeveeMy font color should be a light brown, thought I imagine that that will change in the event of an evolution. I have no strong opinion on the map. I have no idea what Ditzie is, and R20 and Gdrawings are 6 or 1/2 dozen to me respectivley

Melanie the Cubone NecromancerMy first choice for Melanie's text is probably a darker brown like this, but I can change it if that winds up too close to somebody else. Probably Purple is my second choice, because ghosts. (I'd go with something like Ivory but there's no way it'd show up.) Gdocs or Ditzie is probably best for maps - anything that lets us edit the map ourselves will make it easier to keep track of where everybody is, rather than needing to wait for you to edit it every time with a series of static images.

Virgil the Dapper Spoink Let's see That looks pretty reasonable. I think I'll use that for Virgil. Assuming we are using colored text. I tend to like it since it makes things easier to read. I think ditzie is the only one I haven't used before but I looked it over and it seemed pretty good. I don't have a real preference for hosting the map in any of those formats.

Franzeska Von Schlau, the Noblespider of Optimistic InvetionsI'm thinking Franzeska's colour would be Electric Blue like the link above. As for maps, I don't really know enough about the other programs but Google Sheets seems the less problematic of the three maybe? They're easy enough to use without much of a hassle. But you do you, Llyarden!

So we seem to have lost a player already, which is rather disappointing. Never mind. It looks like speech colours are a go, and in terms of maps I'll probably post an image on the map thread (or possibly make a new one for maps), particularly for the dungeons so you guys know where you're going, but combat maps themselves will be done on Google Sheets.
Also, if you have any ideas for NPCs (Melanie's friends from Bagdoral, for instance) feel free to jot them down and I'll add them to the list.

Hey folks! I'm still very much interested in putting my Natu character into action, if you'd like to replace your lost player! Let me know!

Not particularly. Cynical as it may be, I took six players on the assumption that one of them would drop out in short order. Granted, I didn't expect it to happen quite this quickly, but now I am back down to my intended number of players.

As an aside, please a) label your dice rolls so we know what they are and b) roll them in the normal way. 3d6 is not the same as 3-18.

Thanks!

So there's a new Playtest Packet that does some adjusting of Abilities. If everyone could tell me a) if they're affected by it and how and b) if they'd be happy to adopt it, that'd be useful.

My Intimidate becomes at-will swift action, but can only target a target once. I dont really mind if you do or don't, just a bunch of the abilities really annoy me now.

If we adopt the packet, Melanie as she stands right now gets nerfed hard - her basic ability changes to Bone Wielder, so she effectively has no ability except Cursed Body until she either picks up a Thick Club or hits Level 20. Granted, Bone Wielder is awesome now (rather than just +1 accuracy with bone moves and immunity to losing it, bone moves get to ignore type immunity, and that's on top of Thick Club granting an admittedly nerfed Huge Power), but it doesn't do anything without the Thick Club. (Future changes: Rock Head gives +10 damage to any move if I charge at least 4 meters as well as negating recoil. Bone Lord is now once per scene per move rather than just once per scene, and it makes Bone Club drop Def and SpD rather than auto-flinching, Bonemerang trade Double Strike for Line 6 rather than being Priority, and Bone Rush auto-hit four times instead of five.)
This isn't a vote against it - I'm pretty much indifferent and wouldn't mind seeing it implemented, but Melanie's in a bad spot (squarely under the nerfbat).
EDIT: Apparently further dev consideration has concluded that Bone Wielder should no longer require a Thick Club, which makes it a lot nicer. (It might be worthwhile to keep that second post in the playtest thread on hand when considering abilities, at least until a fixed/updated version of the packet is put out.)

Well, in the absence of other opinions, and since the majority of the PCs are at a convenient stopping point right now, I'll go ahead and say that we'll change over to the Playtest. Go ahead and recalculate your stuff now.
(And yes, this does mean that Franzeska's Thunder Wave suddenly changes effect mid-fight, but that's fine; she hasn't used it yet.)

I'm sorry to do this, but I don't think I'll be able to continue with this, at least for the forseeable future. Partly because I need to have a think about how to make what is basically a dungeon-crawl work in a system that discourages healing (because as is somewhat obvious it doesn't work very well naturally), but mostly because I'm not likely to get any less busy over the coming months.

Sorry to here that. Hopefully you don't end up too overwhelmed by life. I know it's tough sometimes.
